Change Team:
Seacoast Lax 10U Girls
by posted 03/20/2023

Good morning, my name is Roscoe Bishop and I am one of the Seacoast Lacrosse 10U coaches. We are looking forward to the upcoming  season. We have over 50 girls signed up, which is enough for 4 Seacoast teams. Team rosters and game schedules are being developed. As this information becomes available, we will share it. A few things to note so far:

  1. We will be practicing during the following slots:

  • Monday 4-5pm @ Community Campus Turf

  • Thursday 4-5:15pm @ Community Campus Grass (field behind tennis court)

  1. We are waiting for field clearance and warmer weather to begin practicing. We may be able to begin the week of March 27th, but could also begin the week of April 3rd. Again, we will let you know as things come into focus.

  1. Games will be on Saturdays and will likely start the weekend of April 8th or 15th. We should have the schedule soon!

  1. In terms of equipment, please make sure your daughters have the following:

  • Stick (there are no real regulations for SAYLL, so whatever they are comfortable with; we can discuss further during practice if you have questions).

  • Mouth guard

  • Eye protection (must be SEI approved)

  • Cleats (at least when we are on real grass; sneakers may be ok on the turf, but cleats could also be appropriate)

  • Water bottle

  • Please also send them dressed appropriately. Layers and often gloves help keep them comfortable as the temperature rises and falls.

In the meantime, consider having your daughter watch Taylor Cummings “how to” videos, which you can find on youtube here and/or watch some (college) lacrosse games on youtube (look up Boston College)! Also try to get your kids out to play with their stick to practice ground balls, cradling, and throwing (with you, a friend, sibling, or for the dog). We will be together for practice soon enough.

Warm thoughts. We will be in touch.

-Roscoe
